Olga Gudynn Nursery
Curriculum
Instruction is carried out according to the National Curriculum and the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The Olga Gudynn Int’l School (OGIS) nursery schools are equipped to international standards, using innovative, interactive teaching techniques and high-quality teaching materials.
Instruction and conversation are carried out in English and Romanian. The compulsory activities of the National Curriculum are carried out in Romanian. Activities aimed toward personal, language, artistic, and physical fitness development are conducted in English, following the British Curriculum Early Years Foundation Stage and international best practices.
The main purpose of our nursery school is to prepare children for life, addressing both its present and future needs, by developing children’s spontaneity, independence of thought, creative motivation, and the desire to express their opinions. Every child has creative potential that needs to be encouraged and developed.
A larger number of activities are carried out in English so that children can communicate correctly and fluently in both languages. The activities carried out throughout the school year are aimed at the individual, social, and emotional development of children.
In our nursery schools, children are encouraged to develop positive thinking about themselves and others, to trust their own strengths, to develop their practical skills, and to feel special and appreciated by the important people in their lives. Children learn to freely express feelings such as joy, sadness, frustration, or fear; to try different strategies for coping with challenging situations; and to manage possible conflicts that arise in daily life.
Clean air and physical exercise are vital to the health and development of each child. The nursery school teachers carefully monitor each child’s involvement in the different activities.
